Alina Rios

Founder, Playwright, Voice Performer (she/they)

Alina Rios is founding editor of Bracken magazine and a published poet and fiction writer. She now writes for stage and film with her plays being produced on both sides of the Atlantic by Slackline Productions, Nylon Fusion, Kibo Productions, and others. Her film pressed/bluebells premiered in Cannes in 2022 and another film Soot Darlings is an official selection of Video Art & Experimental Film Festival (VAEFF), NYC. She was a Dramatist Guild Foundation National Fellowship Finalist (2023-2024) and a quarterfinalist in the ScreenCraft Stage Play Competition 2023. She’s been mentored by Kevin Dyer (winner of Best Play, Writers’ Guild of Great Britain) and Stella Duffy. As a playwright, she’s worked with Laura Killeen, Emma Copland, Nicole Cooper, Rachael James, and Oyinka Yusuff.

In 2023, after training with Frantic Assembly in London, she started her own physical theatre company Verbooom. In 2024, she wrote for Dragonslayer, an immersive experience directed by Audrey Rachelle (Punchdrunk International) and Alex Oliva (The McKittrick), and directed Strange, Fucked Up, Kind of Beautiful for 12 Minutes Max at The Base. She also directed, wrote for, produced, and was a voice actor for URGE, Verbooom’s inaugural production. Most recently, her interactive installation Cabinet of Fathers was exhibited at CoCA, Seattle, and she’s been studying Field Recording & Soundscapes with Marcus Leadley, head of Goldsmith’s Electronic Music Studios. Adriana Hillas

Education & Production Manager, Performer (she/they)

Adriana Hillas is a versatile performer, writer, and teaching artist. Growing up abroad most of her life as a third culture kid, theater is always how she found community. She graduated with an MFA in Collaborative Theatre-Making in 2018 from Rose Bruford College in London. With a love for performance that knows no bounds, Adriana has shared her experience in performance and writing, collaborating as an educator with public schools, community centers, nonprofits and shelters in Washington DC, London, New York City, and now Seattle. Natalie Grant

Movement Director, Performer (she/her)

Natalie Grant is a movement artist and educator based in Seattle, WA. She’s had the pleasure of performing works by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (staged by Jakub Truszkowski), Ohad Naharin (staged by Bobbi Jene Smith), Shannon Gillen, Netta Yerushalmy, Peter Chu, Misha Getman, Spenser Theberge, and for Alex Ketley as a member of his company, The Foundry. While living in San Francisco, she taught workshops and staged Ketley’s work throughout the west coast, and was on faculty with the Alonzo King LINES Pre-Professional Training Program.

Since moving to Seattle, Natalie has performed for Maia Melene D’urfé and Samantha Fabrikant, and has expanded into theater – performing as a dancer/actor for AnA Collaborations’ immersive theater production, dragonslayer, and with Verbooom Physical Theatre Collective as both performer and movement director. Natalie’s own solo work has been presented by Seattle’s CO– and as a BOOST Festival Artist in Residence. She currently is a guest teaching artist with Ballet Rituals guiding advanced/professionals in contemporary technique practices. More at natcgrant.com.
